A history of Colorado license plates from the prestate era through 1991 providing descriptions, data tables, and photographs of plates organized by type. Data tables Include numerical, two-letter and three-letter county codes, as well as registration numbers for passenger, truck, dealer, trailer, truck dealer, motorcycle, and motorcycle dealer, 1913–1988; bus, 1928–1929; commercial truck, 1943–1950; various truck types (city, farm, metro, recreation, gross ton mile), 1955–1988; lost/replacement, 1916–1934; various tractor types (tractor, city, farm, metro, gross ton mile), 1948–1988; special mobile equipment and mobile home, 1955–1988; electric, personalized, handicap, and ham radio, 1974–1988; passenger registrations by county, 1918–1988; passenger plate number assignments by county, 1916–1926.
