Alternative Title

A Reference Guide to the Passenger License Plates of the United States and Canada

Abstract

Description

A reference work covering the passenger license plates of Canada and the United States organized alphabetically by province and then state. Each entry consists of a page of text covering significant milestones in the jurisdiction's license plate history, multi-year baseplates, numbering systems, and validation devices followed by hand drawn illustrations of the format of plates and validation devices for each year. Codes indicate plate colors and materials. Spaces are left for the book owner to add additional illustrations for subsequent years. An introductory section explains the arrangement of information in the book, lists contributors who provided information, and provides a glossary of terms and abbreviations used throughout the rest of the text.
